Arion Wine Company jumps into Cas di Glas fundraising activities
21/08/2010 | Renaissance Marketplace
The Arion Wine Company is one of the first businesses on Aruba to jump into the Cas di Glas fundraising activities, trying to help raise money to buy a mobile breast cancer screening unit for the island. The wine importer has contacted several of their best retailers and restaurants and have asked them to donate part of the sales of their Arion-imported wines. The great thing is: everyone said yes.
Supercenter Ling & Sons is joining in with terrific Alice White wines from Australia in the Month of August and Folonari from Italy in September. For every bottle sold, US $ 0.50 is donated to the Cas di Glas. Colleague supermarket Superfood is doing the same with Namaqua Wines from South Africa while Divi Links, Ruth Chris and the Hyatt Regency Resort will donate $ 1.—per bottle sold of the famous Kendall Jackson wines from California.
The Arion Wine Company crew is very enthusiastic about the Cas di Glas happening. For those who are not yet up to speed about it: this is the short version of the unique project. The Cas di Glas (House of Glass) is a fundraising event that takes place from September 29 thru October 3 in the Renaissance Marketplace across from CILO City Lounge. It is a concept that, after its immense success in Holland, has been copied in various big cities in Europe. Its goal: to get a substantial amount of money for a good cause; on Aruba this will be the Koningin Wilhelmina Kankerfonds (KWF), the cancer foundation. With the Cas di Glas money a mobile breast cancer screening unit will be bought. During four fun days the focus will be on entertainment, sports, health, nutrition and, of course, illness. Various popular international as well as local deejays and entertainers will perform live on stage, all in a joint effort to raise money to save lives. |
